Liminal Illusions
In Chong’s 2022 body of work, Liminal Illusions, there is a dedicated pursuit of illuminating BC’s forest stewardship through the organic cadence of nature. The artworks bear witness to environmental portals gradually unfolding in Gaia. These iridescent thresholds may manifest as vibrational apparitions or metaphorical illusions, signposts to the imminent climate crisis. Tackling the complexities of environmental stewardship and global conservation, the artist’s lens-based imagery explores physical, emotional, and symbolic apertures within liminal spaces in our natural world.
