Involvement
Blessed with great mentors, I’ve always aimed to give back. Over decades, my design agency, ISI Branding, mentored creative talents worldwide. Our “Art of Donation” program, started 25 years ago, provided creative services for charity fundraising, benefiting organizations like DEWC, Vancouver Opera, BC Special Olympics, and Coastal Jazz and Blues Society. Libby Davies, MP, Vancouver East, acknowledged our contributions to Frog Hollow Neighbourhood House in 2004.
A rewarding moment was the Scotiabank Eastside 10km run, raising $1,400.00 for DEWC. In 2022, 2021, 2019, and 2018, I donated 10% of artwork sales from Eastside Culture Crawl, totaling over $2,450.00 for BC charities.
In 2023, our ‘Art of Donation’ featured eight artworks of blooms for The Budzey Building’s single mothers in Downtown Eastside. The series, “Flowers of Understanding,” captured worldwide locations. The Budzey supports women and families transitioning from homelessness to stable, supported housing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
